Welcome to First Unitarian Society of Westchester

Please join us in welcoming First Unitarian Society of Westchester (FUSW) to South’s campus beginning this Sunday, November 14. Our communities’ mutual commitments to deepening spirituality and advancing justice opens possibilities for collaboration and partnership.

FUSW is renting space at South because of the heavy hit their building took in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida in September. They’ve determined they will not be returning to their campus on Old Jackson Avenue in Hastings anytime soon.

At this time, their community will use South’s Chapel for Sunday services at 10 am as well as for women’s and men’s groups on Friday afternoons and evenings.

We will share Coffee Hour after worship and are exploring collaborating on church school and community events. For example, Common Ground Concerts—the live music series held at FUSW since 2002—is hosting its November 20 concert at South.

The new sounds and new people in the building may require flexibility but above all know that we see sharing our space with FUSW as a gift and an opportunity.
