Pastoral Terms of Call

We begin 2022 by launching our search to find a new pastor for South Church. Please see below for the members of our search committee. Here are our terms of call–our vision for the position–a document which has been approved by the Hudson River Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry.

While the information describes a transitional pastoral search committee and transitional pastor terms of call, we expect this person could be with us for a year or slightly longer. This pastor will, we hope, help us focus on what we, the people of South and the community around us, really need and want, in terms of being a force for good and source of deep meaning to many on a long term basis.

It is our hope that by the end of the transition pastor’s tenure, South Church will be a stronger congregation with even stronger ties to the community and also more stable financially.

We envision the pastor position at 75% of a full time position, with responsibility for preaching on holidays and at least two times per month. There will continue to be services led by members and in collaboration with other local groups, including the First Unitarian Society of Westchester – the community that shares our space.

Thank you to the following members of the transitional pastoral search committee, as they begin their work of reviewing and vetting candidates:

Meg Bussert (church member)
Eric Greenberg (deacon representative)
Maria Harris (deacon representative)
Kris Kliemann (session representative)
Andrew Smith (church member)
