South Church Celebrates National Coming Out Day

(Dobbs Ferry, NY, October 5, 2022) Come to South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry and show your Pride. There will be photo-ready Pride flags set up on the front lawn from Sunday, October 9, through Tuesday, October 11, which is National Coming Out Day.

Pastor Margery Rossi will be on hand to take photos and talk about spiritual questions on Sunday after the church’s 10:00 a.m. annual Blessing of the Animals service until noon and again on Tuesday between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Stop into the church office on Tuesday for a rainbow lapel ribbon and a sweet treat to celebrate the wondrous diversity of our divine creator.

“Coming Out and Being Out often involves courage, risk and a leap of faith, which can be very difficult to do alone. South Church has a long and storied history of courage, risk-taking and standing with the LGBTQ+ community,” said Rossi. “We hope this simple event will affirm our ongoing support for friends and neighbors who are taking this leap and celebrate their decision to live as authentic, beloved human beings, made in the image of God.”
