Manse extends South Church’s ministry of welcome

“One of the nonprofits I work with needs office space.”

“We’re looking for a place to host a TBD/event.”

“A friend is coming to get a second opinion from some doctors in the city and needs a place to stay

“I know a community organization who needs a place to hold their quarterly meetings”

“We’re already starting to look for vendors for this year’s Holiday Market.”

“How about a Halloween costume party?!”

This is the vision for The Manse: to amplify and extend South Church’s ministry of welcome through church gatherings, non-profit meetings and office space, and overnight hospitality. Our hope is that these uses will generate funds to pay for The Manse’s renovation and care, and support some of South’s ministries.

We are still working on a few code issues, and then filing our intended use with the Village of Dobbs Ferry. Our goal is to file this use by the end of this month. The Manse is registered with the Town of Greenburgh as residential for clergy. We will file our change of use next May, reflecting what happened the year prior.

Re-envisioning the Manse has been an exciting, year-long conversation and we thank these people and others who have come together to envision, think through village codes and nonprofit parameters, and make our first events an amazing reality. Now we invite you to join us.

There’s a place for everyone at this table–to network with our non-profit connections who might need office space, and friends who might want to host events. To help with South Church events like the Holiday Market and the Halloween party (yes, that’s real!). To welcome overnight guests and even pitch in with projects like painting a bathroom.
