How do you worship God?
Here at South Church, we enjoy exploring the myriad ways we human beings can express ourselves in the act of worshipping the Divine.
Our worship is best described as being based on a traditional church service, but with some acknowledgements to contemporary life. It is a living thing – constantly evolving and adapting, with no two services being exactly the same.
A couple of principles we try to observe in our worship:
- To create time and space for silence and reflection, allowing the sacred in us to meet the sacred in other
- To dissolve the distinctions between clergy and laity, as all members of the community minister to one another.
- To assure that each of us can bring our joys and sorrows to worship together, and that each can offer solace and comfort, friendship and help, prayers and thanks.
