It takes a village to provide a vibrant, fun and educational Church School program – so one way you can make a huge difference is to volunteer to be a Church School Teacher or Teacher’s Helper.
Each church school Sunday, a Teacher will prepare and lead the activity or event. Helpers assist the Teacher in working with the children.
Each parent is encouraged to be a class helper a few times during the church year.
If you don’t want to be a teacher, there are other ways you can help with Church School including:
- Field trip/event chaperone
- Occasional/Substitute teacher
- Snack Helper
- Arts and Crafts projects
- Help with Music/Singing
- Gathering Supplies
If you can do any of these things, please talk to a member of the Church School Team:

South Presbyterian Church is a Safe Church, which means that we have adopted policies to ensure the safety of children participating in our programs.
Under our Safe Church Policy, anyone who volunteers to work with, drive, or show up for youth/children activities (church school, youth group, anything that is for the younger church alone) will be vetted with a background check at no cost to them. It’s quick and easy. Contact Susan Lauer (firstname.lastname@example.org) to complete the process. We encourage all parents and any adult might want to help out to be prepared to do so by being vetted.
